On 27 to 30 May 2010, 13 sponsors from Jakarta had the opportunity to visit their sponsored children in Singkawang - West Kalimantan. Staying two nights in Singkawang and one night in Bumuran hamlet, Keranji village, activities filled with playing with the ambassador of Early Childhood Care Education, Wahana Pena Emas, in Mekar Jaya village,

The night settling in Oelpuah village in Kupang Tengah District, East Nusa Tenggara province, could not hold back Maria Seran, the cadre coordinator of the Flamboyan 3 Posyandu (village health post) to enthusiastically share about the activities in the posyandu.

The government claims it is making progress in its efforts to achieve the 2015 Millennium Development Goals. But the success seems visible only in urban areas. The Jakarta Post's Dina Indrasafitri was recently invited by World Vision to four villages in West Kalimantan to take a closer look at the condition of people in remote regions.

Keranji hamlet is a remote hamlet in Bengkayang district, West Kalimantan. This hamlet was one of the visit destination by Wahana Visi Indonesia sponsors from Jakarta at the end of last May. It was not easy to reach this hamlet because the road was very bad, so iit is only the four wheel drive carr or motor-cycle that can go there. However, the visiting sponsors were very satisfied to see the clean water installation in the hamlet constructed by Wahana Visi with the sponsor donation. They were also very happy to meet their sponsor children for the first time.

On Sunday, 30 May 2010, 13 sponsors of Wahana Visi Indonesia from Jakarta made a visit to Bengkayang district and Singkawang town in West Kalimantan. They wanted to have a direct look at the education and health programs implemented by Wahana Visi in that area. In this visitation, they were accompanied by Singkawang-Bengkayang ADP Manager, Eninofa Rambe, to a number of the program sites.
