Religious leaders ‘should help curb HIV

JAKARTA: Interfaith cooperation among religious leaders would help to curb the spread of HIV, a senior official says.

“I sincerely hope that an interfaith cooperation will support the nation in achieving its target of curbing the spread of AIDS and protecting our children from the threat of AIDS and HIV,” Emil Agustiono from the Office of the Coordinating People’s Welfare Minister said Wednesday during the opening of a two-day interfaith conference on HIV and AIDS at the ministry’s offices in Jakarta, as quoted in a press release made available Thursday.
